Hi John,

Have you seen these new Victrix figures that are on pre order. No idea if they will be held up due to C-virus outbreak.

Pretty, very pretty. I may need some, cos Polish Lancers!

Hey folks,
Hope everyone is doing well. Obviously with what’s been happening there’s been little chance of me managing in, gutted that Falkirk was cancelled but I agree with the decision.

Look after yourselves and hopefully I shall see you all perhaps for some post apocalyptic gaming later in the year.

Osprey are giving away free books as downloadable pdfs for a limited time , so many per day, just sign up if you haven't already and once you have picked your books go to basket and in the coupon box put in FREEBOOKS1 and your order total goes to zero. I just got US Marines v Japanese and The Martini Henry Rifle, which should be 24 quid.

Just when I remember, another boredom buster to enjoy, "We Have Ways Of Making You Talk" podcast. "Comedian Al Murray and historian James Holland discuss all matters Second World War."

Lots of episodes to listen to if you are just starting now, usually 30 to 45 minutes long. Great stuff. Find them here:

As I said to Scot R if we spent the club time on a Sunday painting instead we should have options for new games when we reopen Smile

Plenty of figures to paint. Might finally finish my 15mm ACW armies 😊

I think we just save some cash and hope Claymore is on at its normal time. Then we can buy many figures.

I have contacted the church secretary today, our let has now been suspended at least to May 3rd but probably now to July or August depending on how the situation plays out.
I will keep you posted, but keep well and look after yourself and your families and hopefully we will come out unscathed when the worst is over.

My concert plans have all been cancelled so I'll be in next 2 Sundays.

***EDIT***

Having just seen the latest government guidelines about not having unnecesssary social contact, even with friends, I will not be in at the club befire we go on hiatus. Both my parents are over 70 and there is no real avoiding them when you live with them. Now whether they listen and start staying in the house most of the time is another matter.

See you all soon when the all clear siren sounds.

Well I'm available for the club over the next 2 weekends, so I could go if others are. Especially if we need money to offset the cost for those two weekends?

I plan to contact church secretary a week on Wednesday if he does not contact me first. So no meetings in April. I don't foresee this being a problem and hopefully the 3rd of May will see us return.
Hope everyone keeps well and look forward to seeing everyone in May.

Regards

Exdie

I had already decided that it would be too risky for me to keep coming into club at least until we see what the near future brings. Closing the club until May is a good idea and contacting the church secretary would be the best way forward. Graham is much like me health wise and he is not coming into club either for the foreseeable future. I don’t know what I will do on Sundays lol, maybe get some figures painted would be an option unless the good lady comes up with some other tasks 😂.

Please remember to contact Steve with the games you all play and which rules you use and if any of you have some good photos of games to pass on to him as well.

As we discussed yesterday I think closing until May is a good idea, lets see if the church contacts us about shutting if not then tell them we wont need the hall until at least May (but maybe longer depending on the national situation) and that's my two cents worth lol

There were five folk in yesterday Cameron, Stuart, Alistair, Brian and myself with two games being played.
After some discussion we felt it more than likely that the church will be shut due to the virus in the near future. None of us will be in this Sunday, however we have paid for the next two Sunday's so until I hear otherwise we can still attend the next two Sundays. The congregation are very old so the church will eventually not be open if things continue to deteriorate.
If I hear nothing from the church secretary it was felt I should contact him asking if we could suspend our let until the first Sunday in May, if everyone was in agreement ?
Please put forward your opinions as this requires careful consideration.

Ed

Found some interesting threads on Reddit

By tracing some of the crossposts I'm sure I'll find more . There was an airplane one, but not sure how much it would interest us.

Gents have a look at Steve's post ''Information Request'' and let him know what games we/you are playing, and rules etc.
