| Hi Allan
I've also bought a box of the WSS cavalry and have started painting them as French dragoons - nice bright yellow and red coats. A box of 12 figures will make a French regiment of four sqaudrons.
I'll post some pics of them when I've finished

They look really nice figures and two boxes of light cavalry makes 12 horse archers and 12 javelin armed cavalry - all for about £15. Not bad.
I've also got a box of their Andalusian Heavy cavalry - they look a bit too Arabic to be used as Normans but they are nice figures mainly lance armed but one with axe and shield.
I'll post some pics when I get a few painted.
DS look forward to seeing them I just picked up a box of the Wargames Factory WSS Cavalry they are nice, 12 to a box with loads of combinations of head and body to cover all the period Regiments. I liked the infantry you had done, great way now to pick up a cheap army. when you next down and we can arrange a BLB game? cheers A | |

| Very nice Dave, the village looks good enough to raid right now. The Hat figures figures fit in fine and look real nice painted up, I had another look on their site and will get some napoleonic ones to add to Sharp Practice troops, the legere figures are nice.Pity no cavalry yet.
Doc, the coffee stirrers sound a good idea.

| Hi Dave Love the look of your Viking village. We were talking about Balsa yesterday. I have maybe found a useful alternative. My boss bought a box of coffee stirrer sticks. They are 190mm x 8mm x 2mm. Soft pine I think. They come in a box of 1000 & I'm going to see how much they are for a box. Boss is going to cash & carry on Wednesday. I think they would be good for planking and maybe making fences. Doc | |

| John we were talking yesterday about the HaT Industry 28mm's. I've added some pics of my Normans - actually mostly HaT El Cid Spanish. HaT's 28mm figs are all hard plastic like Vitrix and Gripping Beast. They are slightly smaller and thinner but seem to fit in OK. They are also cheaper per box. I've added some pics of them against the Conquest Games plastic Norman Knights for comparison. The Conquest Games box comes with twelve horses but fifteen figures giving you the option to make some up as light cavalry. However, Conquest Games website sells sprues of three horses that I've used to mount the six figures left over from the two boxes I bought. The box also contains a fallen knight and horse - reminds me of the old Airfix seventh cavalry figure. I've also added some pics of my Viking settlement so far. This is an ongoing project and I can see where it needs some tweeks. It could also do with some livestock and plundered goods lying around! Enjoyed the game yesterday Cheers for now DS [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] ] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img][img | |

 | Subject: base sizes Sat Jun 18 2011, 18:24 | |
| Hi Dave, just spent ages looking for the rulebook, lol.
Artillery is based as 1 gun and 2 crew on a 1" frontage x 1 1/2" deep and extra crew figures on 1/2" frontage x 1 1/2" deep per 1 figure. Hope he hasn't asked for more foreign troops to be painted, it's the only spanish army I know that has very few spanish troops in it.
cheers JC |

| Hi guys
I'm painting some 15mm SYW Spanish for Bill at the moment.
Can someone remind me of the base sizes for artillery please. I've done some before but have forgotten the dimensions.

| Hi Dave, they look great, looking forward to trying the rules and getting them on the tabletop. I'm pretty sure a lot of snipers and sharpshooters used single shot muzzle loaders too lol. See you Sunday. JC |

| Before Eddie gets on line - I've just realised my deliberate mistake with some of the sharpshooter figures - did they not use breechloaders? Suppose I can claim that some of the figures are cleaning the barrels with those ramrods! DS | |
