hey folks,
Allan's increasing work commitments have lead him to enlist me as co-commissioner, as such i shall be busily working out the details for the league structure, rules, etc over the next few weeks.

I have already got most of the details worked out for our divisional qualifying tournament where each team will be facing off in a Knockout style tournament to establish which division/position they will start our first league season in, so anyone yet to have their team added pls let me know.

Any players who wish to change their teams name or race should inform me as soon as possible.
I will be posting a finalised version of this hopefully the week before our divisional qualifying tournament (date to be arranged, hopefully in the next month or two).

League Table
Team Coach Team Name Team Race Team Value Wins Draws Losses
George New Orclan's Badmoons Orc 1000 1 0 0
Doc The Bustymore Bunnies Human 1000 0 0 1
Allan The Norscaravens Norse 1000 0 0 0
Cameron The Rottington Deadskins Undead 1000 0 0 0
John Orc 1000 1 0 0
Ali The Sister Sledgehammerers Dwarf 1000 0 0 0
Bill Lizardmen 1000 0 0 0
Brian Wood Elves 1000 0 0 0

hey folks,

i did ask barry bout a game before John had mentioned bloodbowl with bill so will have to push bloodbowl to next week if thats ok with bill.

Doc if you wanna sit in while i play baz thats fine, (you can keep me right on 8th ed rules) have been struggling to get the army list right but should be finished tonight. So far i'm running about 150 models so no doubt i'l be outnumbered 2-1, these horde rules are such a pain.

hey folks,

Thx Doc for passing on that message from ally.

I had asked Barry about 3000pt game of fantasy but he was unsure if he would be able to get down and i have yet to hear from him.
John had also asked if i would run Bill through a game of bloodbowl at some point so i had thought to run this if barry cancelled.

Will give barry till tonight to get back to me or i will assume he is unable to get down.

Looks like I have nothing planned. George did mention he may play BArry at Warhammer. I'll play it by ear and see what happens. If George & Barry are playing Warhammer I may sit in and check over rules as we missed out rout effects last week. I knew the game seemed hinky.

I was looking at the list of teams so far. George the official Warlord name for their female Dwarf team is "Sister Sledgehammerers" Which is good enough until Ally maybe changes it.

I'm thinking my team should be the "Bustymore Bunnies" albino

I think there is an Under The Lily Banner (Great Northern War) game on and a couple of I Ain't Been Shot Mum Campaign style games planned. John will confirm that I'm sure.

Happy New Year All,

Right it's official, paint jobs all done, I will be using an undead team in the Bloodbowl League, and just so there's no misunderstanding I won't be counting touchdowns at the end of the game, I will be counting opposition dead. Beware the

An old GW specialist fantasy skirmish system based in the ruined city of Mordheim. Warbands of around 8 - 15 models including hero's and henchman groups fight it out among the ruins of the city to acumulate wealth and power.

A good campaign can include a reasonable amout of role playing and gaming.

Edwin has shown interest and is looking to use some of his undead army,Allan has a couple of warbands and might be interested, and i have at least three warbands so there is plenty of stuff if anyone wants to try it and see if they might enjoy the game.

PostSubject: Mordheim Campaign interest thread   Wed Dec 21 2011, 22:47

Hey folks,

I'm considering running a Mordheim Campaign so thought i would find out if anyone is interested in playing. It will be a while before the campaign begins as it will take some time to gather the required warbands, materials and get people up to speed on the rules etc. I hope to make it a long running campaign if the initial games go well.

So i'm taking names of those interested and looking for those who may have warbands, scenery etc or even thoughts on background, rules changes which can be used or they would be willing to lend, sell, trade or donate to the campaign.

Cheers guys.

So a basher team that gives you a good choice then, Orcs are good because they can still run a few playes and get a good choice of players.
Black orcs are slow but strong, blitzers are your meat and potatoes, linesmen are good and cheap. Goblins are not a great choice unless you are intending to run some sneaky plays, troll's are expensive but they are your big guy (make sure someone is standing beside him before he acts) and a thrower may come in handy once in a while.

They aint the best at killing people but their tough, hit hard and can play both styles for advanced coaches.

Well John picking your bloodbowl team aint really about whos the hardest mofo out there it's got more to do with how you intend to play them.
There is basically 3 types of team
1) bashers - these teams play the slow grinding game, more intent on bashing crap out your opponent than actually scoring. When they do score it tends to be cause the opponent has little left on the field to stop them.
( some examples are Orc, Chaos, Dwarf, Undead)

2) pass or run teams - these are pretty much the opposite of bashers they run circles round the opponet and score as often as possible however they are very fragile and usually replace players often.
( some examples are Elfs, Wood elves, Skaven, Amazons)

3) allrounder - these are the middle of the road teams able to play both styles but less effectively than bashers of pass and run teams.
( some examples are Human, Norse, Lizardmen )

As a beginner i would urge you to start with an allrounder team (or at least play a few exhibition games with them) until you find out which style of play best suits yourself. Also look at the models for each team as only certain teams are allowed big guys this can leave you feeling at a disadvantage until you gain more experiance at the game.

Doc's already got dibs on the cissiest John, Dark Elves (who are only slightly less cissy then their very cissy cousins, Wood Elves). Orcs make for a good 'slugging' team and are probably more fun to play as well! 'Pass me another Elf - this one's split!!"

PostSubject: Teams I have Available   Sun Dec 18 2011, 09:48

In addition to Allan's teams I have Humans (The Bunnies), Skaven and Dark Elf bloodbowl teams which would be available for people to use. I would be using one of them. Probably Bunnies or Dark Elves.

Thats cool allan,

As league commisioner it is your decision for the name of course but my suggestion is still there ( just popped into my head whilst trying to think of a name for my orcs).

Great news that the league is so close to starting and yes i am aware that not everyone has a team(s), is up on the rules or may not even wish to play. As i said before the current listings is just there for those of us wishing to arrange pre-season/non-league games and will be amended before the season begins (if it is to be used as such).

As for the results, match listing etc we had a short chat about this last week and i had offered my services as league commentator/reporter/anouncer (which we can discuss in more detail this week) as a way to help contribute towards the league.

See you sunday mate.

Hello all

No name as yet George

I have all the details worked out for the League which will start sometime towards the end of January. Teams to be picked and Groups to be sorted out before then, remember not all the guys have teams (or know the style of play that each team has) or have played much. Also some figures still have still to paint yet.

Rules we will use are the Download Living Rules Book from Games Workshop. (guys please get copy and have a good read)

Just for the record I have no intention of running the League over an online Forum, any results etc good banter and what ever chat you want crack on!!!

But i have not got the time to run this over a Forum online, all will be organised with monthly updates as needed and each manger can look after their own team Roster, finance and update before games. I have worked out a schedule which will show each person who they play next, and this will not allow any Team to run away ahead of the other teams in skills or development, but allow each to play the teams they need to in the groups.

Blood Bowl for me is about playing the games and enjoying it without too much effort. I hoped for the League to be simple good fun games run when we can over the course of the next year, fitting in with the many great periods we do.

I will bring a list of the Teams I have painted and resources I have gathered on Sunday. I had in mind a tried and tested system and formula.

1st round Group stage,
2nd round Play off and run in to the semi finales
3rd round semi finales
4th round Finale and runner up rounds

This system will see everyone play each other on an equal and progressive level as they progress through the first few rounds and give us a result for the teams that will go up the leader board to the finale.

See you all on Sunday Sports Fans
Download your copy and go large on your Big Moot Burger
Cheers
A

Sunday 11th Highlights

Todays highly anticipated match between the Bunnies (humans) and the New Orclan Badmoons (orcs) was the first of our pre-league exhibition games, giving both our fans and the teams a chance to get the measure of our up coming first season.

As both teams entered the stadium the crowds cheered wildly, the players seemed eager to get to grips with each other as the coin flip came down for the orks. The Bunnies kicked off the first half and the orcs got stuck in however after several turns the Bunnies gained the advantage and broke through, snatched the ball and scored a touchdown just before the half ended.

In the second half the orcs were quick to strike back scoring by turn 4 through sheer brutality, causing several injuries to their opponent. As the teams returned to the field the orcs were determined to give it their all, the Bunnies reciever failed to pick up the ball and the ensuing turnover saw the orcs plough through their lines headed for the ball. In the end it came down to a lucky pick up from one of the orc linesmen who went for it and scored the final touchdown of the game.

All in all a great start to what should be an eventful season if this is anything to go by.

Here is a list of the teams taking part in our first league season and how they have done so far.

League Table
Team Coach Team Name Team Race Team Value Wins Draws Losses
George New Orclan's Badmoons Orc 1000 1 0 1
Doc The Bustymore Bunnies Human 1000 1 0 1
Allan The Norscaravens Norse 1000 2 0 0
Cameron The Rottington Deadskins Undead 1000 1 0 1
John The Meen Green Masheen Orc 1000 2 0 0
Ali The Dwarven Troll Runners Dwarf 1000 0 0 2
Bill Draco's Deamons Lizardmen 1000 1 0 1
Brian The Evergreen Guardians Wood Elves 1000 0 0 2
